Ja Morant wins it at the Buzzer against the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have their win streak snapped losing 110-108 against the Grizzlies with a Ja Morant buzzer beater. Ja calls our 7 foot rookie a Pigeon (which Tobin had no clue of its meaning)... Which immediately sends our show to the nearest dictionary!

00:22that's a, that's two buzzer beaters I've been to in the last two months where it's gone the wrong

00:27way. I was at the Cade Cunningham one and this one I'm like, Oh, this sucks. Also, I mean, it's

00:35not, look, I think I'm more excited about how they're playing. They're playing great. The

00:42energy in which they're playing. Um, I would say the pace in which they play, uh, I'm more excited

00:52about that because they've been playing good. They've been, they played well and they had,

00:57you know, I think they could have had every excuse in the book to, to pack it up once it

01:03started slipping away and, you know, getting down eight and jaws getting cooking and they answered

01:08right back a huge eight Oh run. Uh, there was, I think there was like 16 lead changes in the second

01:14half. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was, it was a great back and forth and, and, and even more so,

01:22I think collab did a hell of a job on that last play. It was just a good, good shot. Good shot.

01:26He did do a good job. I know that they're, they're, you know, they weren't happy because,

01:30you know, nobody came over. There was no, like, first of all, I'm going to Leroy credit where

01:38credits do. He got the shot off. He cheated. He gave him a stiff arm and he traveled like,

01:45I mean, which of course he does. He's six, whatever over, uh, uh, he calls them, you know,

02:03that insulting. I don't know what it means. I'm sitting here and I'm like,

02:10I just, as soon as I saw it on Twitter, my first, my first reaction was intangibles. I'm like,

03:02means. What if it's really offensive? It's, it's, it's, it's kind of a, it's kind of one of those

03:08things where, how dare you put this dude in front of me to guard me like dismissive. Like it's just

03:16a pigeon, right? Not well, no, it's just kind of, it's just in my way. A pigeon is like somebody

03:23who's easily taken advantage of. You can trick, you know, something along those lines. It's

03:30basically, it's basically the equivalent of you see a wide receiver and they cover him with a

03:38linebacker. Cause in my mind, I was going to be like, uh, Kalel John, right. Referred to as a

03:43pigeon last night. And then everybody just like looks at me and I'm like, yeah. And then the

03:49credit, like Tim Donovan just comes in, just like yanks the credential. I'm like, you know what?

03:53I'm good to let it go. Besides Kalel Kalel said the best response out of all of it. Anyway,

03:58like his response was great on the, the game where we'll get to that, but let's hear last

04:03night. Uh, John Moran speaking with Taylor hooks after the game, his game winner on a T and T here

04:09is John Moran. Huge game winner. Take me through what you saw on that final possession, a pigeon

04:16guard me. Don't get a bucket when the game, the way you're answering that and the energy we had

04:21in this game, this one felt personal. What was different about this one? Uh, the crowd

04:25getting to board me. Uh, they just woke me up for the second half. I'm pretty sure they ain't

04:30happy going home now. So I gotta tell you, I was more confused by that than the pigeon thing.

04:36I was like, what is he talking about? The crowd boo. There was only one time there was two times

04:41where the crowd got annoyed with John Moran. Uh, one, he just, he like shoved Alec Burks for no

04:48reason because Pella Larson was all over him and he didn't get a call. And so he shoved Alec Burks

04:54and just yells at the referee. That's a foul. And then he, uh, and then the only other time I

05:03really remember him being booed and this is no lie. Leroy, they booed him at the free throw line

05:09because he missed his first free throw and then missed the second one.

05:12Well, they wanted him to miss the second one for free chicken. Right, right, right. That's

05:16the only times I really remember him getting booed. Right. So I don't know what the hell he

05:20was talking about. I was like, huh? I'm like, what do you mean? He said he, the, the booze

05:26turned him around. Like he stunk in the first half. He didn't do anything, but I don't remember

05:31anybody, uh, getting on John Morant, but all right. So a pigeon,

05:38do we blame game ops? Are we mad at game ops now? Because they may have inspired a John Morant

05:43rally. I don't know. I don't know. And this is the funny thing is like, I am way more interested

05:49in this. Everybody this week again, is, is getting mad at him for pointing his fingers in the shape

05:54of a gun at his own bench. And I was like watching get up this morning, get up. And they're like,

06:01we cannot talk about John Morant's game winner. No one is talking about that today

06:06because ladies and gentlemen, he did it again. He made finger guns at his bench.

06:14And I'm like, dude, I'm like, Hey, I just have a question here. Just, this is just me. All right.

06:20What do I know? If we didn't give it this much air and attention, would it offend anybody?

06:30Right. It doesn't offend anybody on the heat. Nobody on the heat thinks John Morant is a threat

06:37to their life. Nobody at the Casaya center last night thought John Morant was a threat

06:42to their life with his fingers. And yet I'm watching all of ESPN this morning.

06:48And of course they're talking mostly Lakers and Warriors, which was a great game, but they're

06:54like just John Morant, you know, who's had a bit of a tumultuous year, just the Grizzlies in general.

06:59He has a buzzer beater. And this is kind of what everybody talks about where it's just like, well,

07:03what's the real thing for this game? Oh, it's like, it doesn't even look like a double guns.

07:18Like, is he doing a shotgun? Like, is he going wabbit season where it's, I guess it's pigeon

07:23season. I just think there's a lot of things that people get up in arms and because they can,

07:33and there's really nothing to see there, right? There's nothing to see. Nothing to see. And he,

07:39he's a young guy who obviously, you know, he tweeted out after the whole controversy job,

07:44this job that he's a little, he's okay. He's divine. He's like, you warned me for doing this.

07:50It's stupid. And you want to know something? He's right. It's a stupid thing to be offended by.

07:56Was it mellows three to the head? Like, what do you think that's supposed to be? Dumb dumbs?

10:11And what did his mind happened? Did you switch on the job? I lost possession. Do you expect

10:18more hope? Oh, and what was your view kind of of how it unfolded?

10:39I was all over. It was, it was, it was kind of cheated and it was a good shot. It bounced. It

11:02It's a part of the rim and went in. It was, it sucked. It really,

11:06now the switch to where John creeps down to the paint, step back, fires it up. It bounces in

11:12the paint. Only thing I would have did differently, right? Is not let him get that deep in the paint

11:21because then that seven footers sitting in front of him. But I will also say this.

11:28He did do this. Oh, no, he did. He did that. And he moved his pivot foot on the way back to,

11:36he took, he got, he got an extra shuffle back there over the seven footer.

11:39I mean, when you watch basketball, there's a lot of that, especially with guys creating

11:47space to shoot three. So I'm not going to make a big deal about that. But this part,

11:52Oh, shiver. Yeah. But they're not going to call that on little job, doing that to a seven footer.

11:56They're not going to do it. If he like it, the fact that he moved them out, I mean, listen,

12:03I was hoping, I was hoping the rest of being the, it would be quick whistle on him because

12:08he was very mean to them. But yeah, it was a tough loss, but see when they were in the 10

12:20game losing streak, there was no promise besides what they were telling you. When I watched that

12:27game last night, they didn't win, but there's a lot of things. I like the aggressiveness.

12:34Um, I love the way they drive and kick. I loved the pace. The one thing that I would say,

12:42since Jimmy has been gone, the pace has gradually picked up to the point where they made the

12:48comment that Memphis is one of the, it has one of the quickest pace and the heat were outpacing them.

12:57So that was, I was so glad to see that everybody got touches. They start moving the ball around.

13:05Well, um, everybody was getting open shots and I can live with you getting an open shot and you're

13:11missing it versus the old dribble, dribble, dribble. Oh no. Two seconds in Chuck one up.
