Up and down performances happen when you play so aggressively: SRH Assistant Coach

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) assistant coach Ryan Cook has said that the team is bound to have mixed performances with their all-out aggressive approach. However, they will continue to bat the same way and will look to put the bowlers under pressure

00:00I'm not sure. We just try and play the style of cricket that we like to play.

00:04I think our team is suited to play an aggressive style.

00:07We don't speak about 300 or any of those things.

00:10That's expectations that are put on us by other people.

00:13But we just look to try and play a positive brand of cricket

00:16and take on the bowlers wherever we can.

00:18It's a strength of ours and we try and double down on those strengths.

00:31What have you seen on the pitch today?

00:33I haven't seen the pitch a lot to be honest.

00:35We came down yesterday and didn't get on there.

00:37I've only just seen the guys looking at it today.

00:39Obviously there's been a lot of different scores throughout the last five games.

00:42So it'll be the team that adapts the best and be able to put a good score on the board if you're batting first.

00:47And obviously if you're bowling, try and pick up some early wickets

00:49which has been the case here in the last couple of games.

01:01I think everyone's staying in good spirits.

01:04We've got a team that's very well bonded.

01:07A lot of good guys in the change room and guys who get behind each other.

01:10So the morale is good and I'm looking forward to bounce back and get a win tomorrow.

01:23What has not been happening in the match?

01:25Are they trying too hard?

01:34What do you think is where the batting has not been as well as last year?

01:41I think if you look at last year as well there were some up and down performances from the batting as well.

01:45So there's bound to be that when you play so aggressively and you keep trying to put pressure on the bowlers.

01:50In fact we got 190 in the game before and only 160 in the last game.

01:55So still putting on some good performances even though not our best.

01:58But 286 in the first game showed what we're capable of and hopefully we can replicate that.

02:04Pat Cummins always has a bat for upcoming players.

02:08You have Aniket Verma, Zeeshan Ansari.

02:11When Mohammad Shammi could not perform, Zeeshan is performing.

02:14How do you expect Shammi to perform here and what about Zeeshan Ansari?

02:19Would you give him a chance here?

02:33I'm looking forward to watching him bowl tomorrow.

02:35And Zeeshan's been fantastic.

02:37He's really impressed in the camp, in the warm-up games.

02:41And then obviously in the game the other night, picking up three wickets on debut.

02:44So I'm sure he should be able to get another run in the next couple of games.

02:50Ryan Love, of course you talked about two defeats.

02:53But it is still early stages of the tournament.

02:56But is there a fear or a concern that if you guys lose another couple of games,

03:01four or five matches, then that losing momentum will come into the play

03:04and things can drastically change in a 10-team tournament?

03:31I don't know if that can clinch us the title.
