Happy Wednesday to all of us. I'm Benny Son, Estareja.
00:05
We have three different weather systems in our country.
00:09
The first one is the Northeasterly Wind Flow.
00:11
The wind comes from the northeastern part of the Philippines.
00:14
It brings light rain until it stops.
00:17
It also brings dark weather to the northern part of the Philippines.
00:21
Here in the southern portion of Mindanao,
00:23
we have the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
00:27
This is the line where the wind comes from the northern and southern hemispheres.
00:32
That's why sometimes it rains heavily.
00:34
For the rest of the country, there's still the effect of Easter Leaves
00:37
or the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean.
00:40
It only brings light rain or thunderstorms.
00:44
Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:47
we don't have any visible storm or low-pressure area
00:50
that can affect our country until the weekend ends.
00:55
Today, Wednesday, we still have dark weather
00:58
here in the northern part of the northern zone.
01:01
It's the effect of the Northeasterly Wind Flow.
01:04
It includes Batanes, Cagayan, Apayau, Isabela, and Aurora.
01:09
We expect light to moderate with at times heavy rains
01:12
especially in the mountains of Isabela and Northern Aurora.
01:16
Be careful of landslides.
01:18
The rest of Cagayan Valley plus the rest of Cordillera Region
01:21
will also have dark weather for today.
01:23
We expect light to moderate with at times heavy rains
01:27
while the rest of the zone includes Metro Manila,
01:31
partly cloudy to cloudy skies,
01:33
and there's a chance of heavy rains or thunderstorms,
01:37
especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:40
Our air temperature in Metro Manila
01:43
is possible to rise to 32 degrees Celsius
01:45
in some parts of the northern and central zone.
01:48
While in Baguio City,
01:50
the air temperature is possible to rise to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:54
For our countrymen here in Palawan,
01:56
we expect fair weather conditions.
01:58
Most of the time, it will be sunny,
01:59
but sometimes, it will be hot,
02:01
especially in the areas of the central portion of Palawan.
02:03
While in Visayas,
02:05
there are areas where there will be light rains
02:09
in the eastern and central portion of Visayas.
02:13
In the afternoon and evening,
02:15
the clouds will move towards Western Visayas
02:18
and Negros Occidental,
02:20
but we also expect dry weather.
02:24
Our air temperature in Puerto Princesa
02:26
is possible to rise to 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon,
02:28
while in Metro Cebu,
02:30
it will rise to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:33
For our countrymen in Mindanao,
02:35
the southern portion of Mindanao,
02:37
it will be affected by the ITCZ.
02:39
There's a high chance of rain in the morning
02:41
in Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi,
02:43
up to the areas of South Cotabato, Sarangani,
02:46
Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
02:49
Sometimes, the rain will be heavy.
02:51
Be careful of flooding and landslides,
02:54
even if the rain won't be continuous.
02:57
For the rest of Mindanao,
02:58
it will be partly cloudy,
02:59
and most of the time, it will be sunny in the morning
03:00
until noon,
03:01
and then, it will be hot in many areas
03:04
until noon.
03:05
In the afternoon and evening,
03:07
it will be partly cloudy to cloudy,
03:08
and there's a high chance of rain
03:10
that will last for 1 to 2 hours.
03:14
Our temperature in Zamboanga City and Davao City
03:17
is possible to rise in the afternoon
03:18
up to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:21
When it comes to our heat index yesterday,
03:24
the highest heat index we felt here in Veracatanduanes
03:27
was up to 45 degrees Celsius,
03:29
followed by Pili, Camarines Sur,
03:31
with up to 43 degrees,
03:33
and in Ibasambales,
03:34
42 degrees Celsius.
03:36
The areas we mentioned
03:37
had dangerous levels of heat index.
03:40
While in Metro Manila yesterday,
03:42
it reached 40 degrees Celsius
03:43
in Iapasay City,
03:45
and 37 degrees Celsius in Quezon City.
03:48
And for our forecast heat index for today,
03:51
April 2,
03:52
the hottest areas in Luzon
03:54
are Dagupan City,
03:56
up to 43 degrees Celsius,
03:57
followed by dangerous levels of heat index
04:00
of 42 degrees Celsius
04:01
in Ibasambales and Veracatanduanes.
04:04
While for Metro Manila,
04:05
the heat index we felt yesterday
04:08
for today,
04:09
that's around 10 a.m.
04:11
until 3 p.m. for today.
04:12
Keep in mind,
04:14
if you're going out,
04:17
make sure to wear a heat shield
04:19
like a raincoat and an umbrella,
04:20
and make sure to drink plenty of water,
04:23
especially in the afternoon.
04:26
And for the location of our ocean,
04:29
we don't have any gale warnings for now,
04:31
and we don't expect any gale warnings
04:32
for the next few days
04:34
because we don't have a Northeast Monsoon.
04:37
It's expected to be 2 to 3 meters high
04:40
in the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon.
04:43
While here in the country,
04:45
it's 1 to 2 meters high.
04:47
If there's a thunderstorm,
04:48
it's only 2.5 meters high.
04:52
And for our four-day weather forecast,
04:54
from Thursday to Sunday,
04:56
that's April 3 to 6,
04:58
there are areas on the eastern side
05:00
of Luzon and Visayas
05:01
that will have a high chance of rain.
05:03
The high pressure here in Taiwan and China
05:07
will move to Japan.
05:10
So that means the wind that comes from the north
05:13
will eventually move to the left or right,
05:17
and then eventually,
05:18
the wind will come from the east.
05:20
So there are areas here in Quezon,
05:23
Bicol Region,
05:24
in the eastern Visayas,
05:25
apart from Cagayan Valley and Aurora
05:27
that will also have rain
05:29
and will be cloudy for most of the day,
05:31
especially in the mountains there.
05:33
That's the effect of the northeast wind flow
05:35
plus the easterly,
05:37
even if the rain won't continue
05:39
for the next four days.
05:41
Meanwhile,
05:42
we still have expectations of rain
05:44
in portions of Davao Region and Socsat Gen.
05:46
By Thursday and Friday,
05:48
that will still be affected by the ITCZ
05:50
or the wind waves from the northern
05:52
and southern hemispheres.
05:53
If our ITCZ rises by the weekend,
05:56
there will still be a high chance of rain.
05:59
Not only those in southern Mindanao,
06:01
a large portion of Mindanao
06:03
will have more rain
06:05
and sometimes it will be heavy,
06:07
so be careful of flooding and landslides.
06:09
The rest of the country is still affected
06:12
by the easterly,
06:13
Central, Southern Luzon,
06:14
and a large portion of Visayas
06:16
will still be hot
06:17
and the small chance of rain will only increase.
06:20
If there is,
06:21
it will only last for one to two hours.
06:24
Our sunrise is 5.51 a.m.
06:27
and our sunset is 6.08 p.m.
06:30
That's all the latest
06:31
from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
06:33
I'm Benison Estareja
06:35
who always says,
06:36
Pagasa is the best solution.
06:57
Pagasa is the best solution.
