00:00
Happy weekend to all of us. I'm Benison Estareja.
00:05
The effect of the strong north-east monsoon is still continuing.
00:10
It will still bring some cold temperatures and low rains, especially in the eastern and southern portions.
00:17
Meanwhile, the easterly or the hot wind from the east brings rains in a large part of Mindanao.
00:23
And over Palawan and Visayas, the monsoon and the easterly are found.
00:28
That's why we're still building a shear line.
00:30
This is the line where we sometimes have heavy rains,
00:34
so we should still be careful of floods and landslides.
00:38
Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:40
we still don't expect a storm to form in our country until the end of March.
00:47
Today, we still expect a cloudy weather in many areas of Luzon because of the north-east monsoon.
00:53
A cloudy weather or cloudy skies with some light rains
00:56
here in Cagayan Valley as well as Apayau,
00:59
below Aurora, Quezon, a large part of Bicol Region,
01:03
and here in Mimaropa, except for Palawan.
01:05
While Luzon is a part of Metro Manila,
01:09
there is still a cloudy part and sometimes a cloudy sky
01:12
that is accompanied by light rains or landslides.
01:16
Here in Metro Manila, it's still not hot, between 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
01:21
and it's still cold here in the north,
01:23
including Baguio City, from 14 to 24 degrees Celsius.
01:29
To our fellowmen in Palawan and a large part of Visayas,
01:32
be careful if you're going out of the house for today
01:35
because the rains are still expected,
01:37
like the shear line or the hot and cold winds.
01:41
The strongest rains are still here in the southern portion of Palawan,
01:44
as well as eastern Visayas.
01:46
There is a high chance that we will have high weather advisories
01:49
and even heavy rainfall warnings.
01:52
While Luzon or Visayas is a part of Metro Manila,
01:55
the western and central portions are also expected,
01:58
mostly cloudy skies, and it's also expected to have scattered rains and thunderstorms,
02:02
especially before dawn until the afternoon.
02:05
Our temperature in Metro Cebu is between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius,
02:09
and the temperature in eastern Visayas is even lower.
02:13
And to our fellowmen here in a large part of Mindanao,
02:17
the rains are still expected, like the easterly,
02:20
even if there will be heavy rainfall.
02:22
As early as this morning, there is a strong rain
02:25
in other Samoro region and Zamboanga Peninsula,
02:28
and there is a high chance of rain in the next few hours
02:31
over Soxergen, Davao region, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
02:36
The remaining part of the Caraga region plus northern Mindanao
02:39
is partly cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies in the morning,
02:42
but by the afternoon, there is also a high chance of rain and thunderstorms.
02:47
Usually, this will last up to 3 hours.
02:50
Our temperature in Zamboanga City and Davao City is up to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:56
For now, we don't have a gale warning or a warning for high winds
03:01
due to the rapid increase in wind gusts.
03:04
It is expected this morning to be up to 4 meters in northern Samar and eastern Samar,
03:09
but eventually, it will go down to 3 meters when the sun rises in the morning.
03:14
The majority of Luzon and the eastern sides of Visayas and Mindanao
03:19
will still be able to play up to 2 to 3 meters of high winds until tomorrow,
03:24
but eventually, the majority of the country will have high winds.
03:34
For our 4-day weather forecast,
03:36
tomorrow, Sunday, March 23,
03:39
we still expect heavy rains and thunderstorms in a large part of Visayas,
03:44
Mindanao, Mimaropa, and Bicol region.
03:46
That is the effect of the combined shear line plus eastern leaks.
03:50
Be careful of flooding and landslides.
03:54
The chance of rain is still the highest here in the Bicol region and eastern Visayas.
04:00
The remaining part of Luzon, the northern and central portions, Metro Manila,
04:05
and Calabarzon will still have heavy rains and thunderstorms.
04:15
Then, on Monday to Wednesday, March 24 to 26,
04:19
the eastern leaks or winds from the Pacific Ocean will return
04:23
with hot and humid weather,
04:26
especially in the eastern sides of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
04:31
However, some areas will still experience heavy rains,
04:34
including a large portion of Mindanao.
04:36
It won't be continuous.
04:37
Eastern Visayas, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Palawan
04:45
will still experience heavy rains from Monday to Wednesday.
04:49
As for the northeast monsoon,
04:50
it is possible that the northeast monsoon will be the last storm of the month
04:56
that will eventually replace the warm-dry season in our country.
05:03
The wind will still return from the north,
05:05
which we call the northeasterly wind flow,
05:08
at the end of April.
05:10
Our sunrise is at 5.59 a.m.
05:12
and the sunset is at 6.07 p.m.
05:15
That was the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
05:18
I'm Benison Estareja,
05:20
always saying,
05:21
Pagasa maganda solusyon!
05:51
Thank you for watching!
