Hong Kong journalists fighting censorship, crackdown

While many journalists have quit amid increasing harassment and intimidation, some say their urge to document Hong Kong's reality is stronger than fear.

00:27After the demolition of Apple and Lai Cheung,

00:29I decided not to be a journalist anymore.

00:32I wanted to tell people the story of Hong Kong.

00:36However, in the past few years,

00:38I have seen that there are still some ambitious businessmen

00:42who are able to reflect the voices of the people

00:46in a very limited space

00:50and are able to make a difference.

00:57This made me feel that I needed to be a journalist again.

01:25I was harassed when I was at Apple Daily

01:27and on and off after it shut down.

01:30I have faced less harassment over the past few years.

01:34During my time at Apple Daily,

01:36they would call my company to find me.

01:38They also called my mobile phone at night.

01:41They called me with their caller ID hidden.

01:44I know other journalists face different types of harassment,

01:47but this is what I've got.

02:00My job was related mostly to visuals.

02:02I still believe that visuals have their way of recording

02:04the changes and differences taking place here,

02:06even if the changes are drastic.

02:08By looking at a certain picture after many years,

02:10you will see the difference.

02:12If I have the chance to stay in this industry,

02:14I still want to record.
