This Engineer Is Soon Going To Be A Doctor

India's top two career choices, engineering, and medicine, she's about to be done with both.

00:00I've been an engineer since 2015 and I'll also be a doctor in 2026.

00:21Why should I settle for something less?

00:30I decided to take a three-month sabbatical and I just painted and I

00:40watched some series and I slept a lot in those three months.

00:43I did not know what would happen and I know there is a lot of stigma that there

00:56shouldn't be any gap on your CV. How would you explain it?

01:07I spent a week figuring out if in India we are still allowed to study medicine at this age.

01:14And to my surprise, the Supreme Court has recently waived off the age limit.

01:18I told them that I've decided what I want to do next.

01:25So they were like, okay, when are you joining back your job?

01:28I'm like, no, no, I'm going to study medicine.

01:32So my mom would confuse and she was like, I can't hear you properly.

01:38Tell me again.

01:39I was like, mom, I want to do MBBS.

01:42She was like, why?

01:45There are a lot of things after MBBS.

01:48It's another 12 years and you're already 29.

01:51I'm like, yeah, it's okay.

01:53I'll get married later.

01:54Don't worry.

01:59I remember fiddling with the pen for two minutes to figure out how to write.

02:04Because I'm so used to typing for the last 10 years that I was literally kind of

02:10fiddling to hold that pen and my hand started paining after five minutes.

02:13And I was like, okay, this pen is not good.

02:15I should change the pen.

02:26I had to Google everything on my own because see, even in the class, they used to run a

02:31lot with the topics and they used to assume that you know.

02:34So I used to ask a lot of weird and basic questions and teachers used to say that, you

02:39know, hey, you don't even know this concept.

02:41Like, are you like wasting my time?

02:44Like, are you dumb?

02:49My heart literally stopped.

02:51I shouldn't say that because I'm going to be a doctor.

02:53Heart cannot stop.

02:54But I was kind of like, oh shit.

02:56And then I opened the scorecard and I told them, mom, it's 676 and rank is 1118.

03:04She was like, look at it carefully.

03:08It's 1118.

03:09Like, are you serious?

03:19I saved a lot of money always.

03:20I knew that someday something like this will happen that I will leave everything and, you

03:24know, do something haywire out of nowhere.
