U.S. President Donald Trump accused the European Union of "freeloading," echoing reported comments by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a leaked chat about Yemen air strikes. When asked by reporters if he agreed with what The Atlantic magazine quoted Hegseth as saying in a conversation on the app to which a journalist was accidentally added, Trump said, "Yes I think they've been freeloading."
