00:00To boost the economy of the Philippines, foreign tourists are no longer included in the value-added tax or VAT.

00:20Foreign tourists can now return the VAT to their purchase that is not less than P3,000.

00:26The VAT refund includes clothes, electronics, shoes, food and non-food consumables, souvenirs, and other personal items.

00:34According to Finance Secretary Ralph Ecto, the refund system will be simple and fair.

00:39It will also be available through cash or online.

00:44The Department of Finance and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JICA,

00:48signed five financing agreements that will provide funds for important projects in infrastructure, health, and climate change initiatives.

00:55Japan promised P46.34 billion or equivalent to almost P17.67 billion for the Davao City Bypass,

01:03P45.76 billion or P17.45 billion for the Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project Phase 4.

01:12P14.48 billion or P5.52 billion for the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project.

01:20P35 billion or P13.35 billion for the Climate Change Action Programme Sub-Programme 2

01:27and P30 billion or P11.44 billion for Universal Health Care.

01:33Export revenues of the services sector of the country continue to be stable despite challenges in selling products abroad.

01:41According to DTI Director Bianca Sikimte,

01:447.5% of services exports in 2024 reached US$52 billion from US$48 billion in 2023.
