00:00Three men have been arrested for suspected illegal logging during a raid under Op Bersepadu

00:07Kazana in Guamusang last Sunday.

00:10Southeast Brigade General Operations Force Commander Datuk Nikros Azhan Abrahman said

00:15the suspects, aged between 28 and 52, were caught gathering processed forest products

00:21at the Sungai Sam archway in Palau.

00:24The 4 p.m. operation led to the discovery of over 500 logs and cut timber, for which

00:29the suspects failed to produce a valid permit or license from the Forestry Department.

00:34Authorities believe they were couriers, transporting illegal forest products for sale in the local

00:40market.

00:41The seized items were worth nearly one million ringgit, and the case is being investigated

00:47under Section 3.2 of the Wood-Based Industries Enactment, 1985.

00:53On the same day, the GOF also seized equipment and machinery worth 500,000 ringgit, which

01:00were used for illegal wood processing during an inspection at a sawmill in Kampung Lela

01:05Jasa, Kuala Krai.

01:07A 52-year-old caretaker was arrested after authorities discovered the sawmill was operating

01:13without a license.
