00:00To drive economic growth and improve the overall quality of life for Filipinos,
00:04President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has approved a 70 billion pesos project
00:09aimed at strengthening disaster response, food security, and infrastructure development.
00:14As chairman of the National Economic and Development Authority, or NEDA Board,
00:18the chief executive endorsed the Panahon ng Pagkilos program
00:21by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
00:26that would empower communities to choose and implement essential projects,
00:30such as water systems, electrification, and daycare centers.
00:34Each municipality may allocate up to 50 million pesos for disaster mitigation initiatives,
00:39benefiting around 500 municipalities.
00:42To boost rice production and ensure a stable supply,
00:46the government has approved the Tumawini River Multipurpose Project in Isabela
00:50and the Balog Balog Multipurpose Project Phase 2 in Zambales.
00:54Additionally, the Mindanao Road Sector Project will enhance road conditions across the region
01:00following its funding approval.
01:02Meanwhile, 224 projects are currently being implemented
01:06under the Public-Private Partnership Center,
01:09including infrastructure development such as airport rehabilitation and improvements
01:13to the metro rail transit system.
01:19It's very important as of today, especially that we are about to face
01:23this kind of water crisis, water supply crisis.
01:27So we have to move faster, we have to move very systematically
01:32so that we can answer all the issues, all the problems in the coming months or days.
