00:00In Panama, government authorities repressed teachers who were demonstrating against the

00:04Social Security Fund reform.

00:06Local police attacked teachers and workers from other unions who were distributing flyers

00:11in the area of Cuatro Altos in the province of Colón.

00:14During the repression, officials of the crowd control unit detained union leader Alberto

00:18Díaz, who was with members of the union movement of educators of the Republic of Panama and

00:24the Single National Union of Construction Industry workers and similar workers.

00:31In the face of the legitimate right we have to protest, to fight, to mobilize, to march,

00:39our fellow educators of Colón and all the organizations that came to the call of a march

00:44to be held in Colón are being repressed by this government.

00:47That bets again as in 2010 on repression in Boca del Toro, because that is its perverse

00:53plan of wanting to impose a disastrous law for the entire population.

01:00We urge the Panamanian people to join the fight against the dictatorial regime of petty
