00:00I'm the exercise rider for Arthur's Ride, and I've been on him for the summer.

00:13He's a good horse to get up on the line, quiet and nice, he's no problem.

00:18But to take him home after he's finished training, that's where you have to stay on.

00:22He has some jumps and some bucks, if you're not knowing what you're doing, he will get

00:27you out.

00:28And they're off in the Whitney!

00:32Actually, up there, I was saying, he put them in front, I had no idea what that would have

00:39been.

00:40But all that worked out, he's going to the race run in 23, before the first quarter,

00:47they can beat him.

00:48But I never expected him to be the leader.

00:54And this is when I bowled out and said, let him go now Junior, let him go.

01:00Yep.

01:01I looked at Neil and I said, they can beat him Neil, he's off.

01:0616th to go, and Arthur's Ride still has a commanding lead.

01:11What a tremendous debut in stakes competition, the grade one Whitney to Arthur's Ride!

01:22I'm from Jamaica origin.

01:25My uncle took me to racing at Cayman Isles Park, that's where it all started.

01:31Then actually I leave from there to Canada, I'm from Canada to over here.

01:36I've been doing this for like 26 years.

01:39I broke my leg and somebody told me, don't quit, these horses hold you something.

01:45So I've always been around horses since that.

01:48So I started working with a trainer named Eddie Woods, but he do it just for the sale.

01:55He introduced me to Bill Mott, that's when I come up here last year.

01:59I just got here, Herma saw me standing over there and she was, you're the new guy?

02:03And I was, yeah, I'm here.

02:06She was there for me that morning.

02:08I didn't even know who he was, but I just felt that I loved him like a son.

02:14I mean, it's something, it just, I don't know what it was.

02:17It was just something about him.

02:19And I love the way he ride.

02:20He's a good rider.

02:22And Arthur, I think Arthur love him too, Arthur just like a baby.

02:27He likes to play.

02:28He likes to eat his carrots.

02:30If I call him, he looks up at me and I just, he's special.

02:36It's always special riding those horses.

02:39You feel it because, you know, a lot of people is watching cameras and all of that and it's

02:45just a skill that you have and quit thinking of and pay attention to what he's doing, because

02:52you can know when a horse is going to do something by the hairs, so you pay attention.

02:59Don't just ride him loose and stuff because he will do something.

03:02So you prepare for everything whenever he's doing it.

03:06He's just a baby, you know, but we love him and he eats all my carrots up.

03:12He's a caring man.

03:13We love our horses and we take care of our horses.

03:16They are our hearts.

03:19Being up here is a really good experience because actually I get to get on some of the,

03:23I could say the best horses in the country.

03:26It's mean a lot to me.

03:27I'm not lying.

03:28It's mean a lot to me.

03:30At first when I just come last year, I was having a little doubt in it, but it's paid

03:34off a lot.
