00:00So, we bought Place du Carousel at the Arcana August Sales.

00:14The co-owners kept a share, Bally Lynch kept half of the filly and we bought half of the

00:20other partners.

00:21Place du Carousel arrived at Andre Favre's stable as a yearling after being born.

00:26She showed plenty of promise as a two-year-old in late summer and Andre was hoping to start

00:32her.

00:33He thought he would be able to start her, give her a run as a two-year-old, which was

00:37the case.

00:38She ran very well first time out and she was second in her maiden at Deauville on the all-weather.

00:42She was a beautiful filly, well put together, good balance, good shoulder, short back, good

00:48hindquarters, lovely mover.

00:50She looked like she had a great temperament.

00:52She came into the Prix de l'Opera off a little bit of a break, but Andre was confident that

00:59she would run a big race in the Prix de l'Opera and she showed great acceleration on much

01:03slower ground that day.

01:06She just showed, again, how versatile she was, she was very effective on pretty much

01:12all surfaces.

01:13Andre was very keen to run her in Deauville where she was well in at the weights, if you

01:18like, in the Gaute Tourbillon.

01:20She won in style.

01:30From there, Andre was keen to run her in the Prix Froid where, again, she really proved

01:35that the step up to mile and a half was not a problem for her.

01:41That day, she beat the very, very smart performer, Irasin, and so it was decided after that she'd

01:46take a chance, quite entitled to, in the Arc de Triomphe.

01:52She's very well bred.

01:53She's by a top European cyclist, Lope de Vega, who's a champion himself, was a champion in

02:00France, and her mother won the Prix du Conseil de Paris on a mile and a half, and she was

02:05second in the Poumon as well.

02:07Good elements between the physical, the pedigree, and the attitude, she had to be a good filly,

02:13and she showed it on the track, and so now she's probably one of the best fillies to

02:20be offered into a sale this year, and she ticked all the boxes to be a future potential

02:28racehorse as a five years old or a broodmare.
