00:00Good afternoon Essence, friends and invited guests. When I was asked to
00:07introduce the Deonna Taylor, I was the one who felt blessed. Fierce and
00:14fabulous is the title she will bear, but let's all take a minute and talk about
00:19how she got there. Going through a public divorce, it's hard, it's true. I know
00:26firsthand because I've been there and done that too. It's easy to be labeled a
00:32villain when God don't let you look like what you've been through. High cheekbones,
00:42abs galore, a body we all could only hope for, and fine for no reason. Baby girl
00:51lives in cuffing season. But let's talk about what we don't see. There's nothing
00:57to hide because transparency, that's where the blessings reside. See, I'm
01:04seeing her beyond the veil. I've seen the tears, heard the wails. My advice, keep
01:12your head to the sky. Let your spirit soar with the birds. One
01:18tear to God is like a thousand words. Hold your head high and straighten your
01:24back, because in the words of Sweet Brown, baby, ain't nobody got time for that.
01:30Here's the real one. You got two little girls looking up at you saying, mom, what
01:37are you gonna do? You tell them move with grace, baby girl, and choose you. And when
01:45you rise into your own stardom, always remember you came from a rose in Harlem.
02:00Her heart is open, her conscience is clear, and because of that, love is near.
02:09Mind your business, Essence. Mind your business.
02:16Tiana, the world is watching. Stand flat-footed in your truth. Don't discount
02:23the reach, because when it comes to you, it's better to see a sermon lived than
