00:00The books of the Filipino authors were presented at the Philippine Book Festival.

00:06Janna Pineda of the Philippine Information Agency has news for the country.

00:13The Philippine Book Festival is attended by books and books of the Philippine authors and publishing houses

00:20from different parts of the country.

00:22The purpose of this book festival is to introduce the Philippine authors and their contributions

00:29in promoting literacy in the country.

00:31That is why, through the National Book Development Board, the Philippine Book Fair is now considered

00:38the largest and primary selection of books of the Philippine authors.

00:44It is also good news for those who want to publish their original works in other languages

00:50because the NBDB provides free programs for this purpose.

00:55We received three books as a translation grant.

00:58We can not only transfer our Philippine languages to English for our fellow Filipinos who are reading English.

01:05We also use this to offer our books to other countries.

01:10And apart from that, we also received a publication grant for three of our books as well.

01:17This helped us because the price of printing is still high.

01:22And with that grant, we were able to produce more books.

01:25With the help of the Philippine Book Festival, not only aspiring Filipino writers and small publishing houses

01:31are given the opportunity to publish their own books.

01:36Because of this, teachers and students are now able to find more learning materials for their studies.
