How did our species live in ancient times? That’s the question archeologists are attempting to answer as they dig up relics and make momentous discoveries. Still, some finds are bigger than others.

00:11Still, some finds are bigger than others, like the tomb of Tutankhamun, aka King Tut.
00:16That's largely because it was untouched for 3,000 years and contained an insane amount
00:21of treasure, including his famous 22-pound solid gold mask.
00:24However, one of the most important archaeological discoveries also related to Egypt was the
00:29Rosetta Stone.
00:30It was uncovered by Napoleon's army in 1799, and it had the same message written in 3 languages,
00:35one of which was Egyptian hieroglyphics, finally allowing experts to decode the language for
00:40the first time.
00:41Lucy, the skeleton of a prehistoric human ancestor, is a more biologically important
00:45discovery.
00:46She walked the earth some 3 million years ago and revealed that before our brains grew
00:49larger, our ancestors had already learned to walk upright.
00:52A list of great archaeological finds wouldn't be complete without the 1974 discovery of
00:58Chinese Emperor Qin Shi Huang's terracotta army.
01:01He was buried over 2,000 years ago, and with him his army of inanimate warriors.
01:06They were all discovered rather recently by a farmer in 1974 near the city of Xi'an.
01:10However, there is still much more to be exhumed, as the burial site stretches some 22 square
01:16miles.
