00:00The increased PhilHealth package is thanked to those who are dialysing in Catanduanes.

00:06Meanwhile, along with the opening of World Kidney Day,

00:09DOH encouraged Filipinos to take care of their kidneys.

00:15Juris de la Rosa of Radyo Pilipinas-Vira has news for the country.

00:22Here on the island of Catanduanes,

00:24many residents are being helped by PhilHealth programs and services,

00:29especially the dialysis patients.

00:32This is one of them, Father Louie from Bayan ng Baras,

00:35who is being dialysed at Eastern Bicol Medical Center.

00:39I've been dialysing for almost two years now.

00:42The PhilHealth program has been covering me for almost two years.

00:47We don't have any money to pay for it.

00:49But the PhilHealth program is helping me with my dialysis.

00:56This is just one of the promises of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

01:01that the PhilHealth programs will not affect you.

01:04In fact, the former benefit for hemodialysis was P4,000.

01:10Now, it's P6,000 or almost P1 million per year.

01:14We have three hospitals that are catering to this.

01:18JMA in San Andres,

01:22CDHI, a private hospital, and ABMC.

01:27This is a big help for our patients,

01:32especially now that many are undergoing hemodialysis.

01:37According to PhilHealth Bicol,

01:40the dialysis claims in Catanduanes reached P40 million this past year,

01:45while P1.1 billion in the whole region.

01:49The Department of Health is calling for proper care for our kidneys.
