00:00The government will now issue a complete plan for the rehabilitation of EDSA.

00:05Rehabilitation will start next month.

00:08This is Bernard Ferrer of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:14In April, the rehabilitation of EDSA will start instead of this March.

00:18According to Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon,

00:22plans for the said project are still being planned.

00:26The preparation will include issuing visas for motorists and commuters who regularly pass through EDSA.

00:33The plan is needed because this rehabilitation will last for almost a year for ASEAN next year.

00:40That's why the plan is the same.

00:43It will be difficult for us to go back and forth because our fellow countrymen will be hungry.

00:49The DOTR and the Department of Public Works and Highways,

00:53Metropolitan Manila Development Authority,

00:55and other agencies of the government to ensure that the rehabilitation will go smoothly.

01:00They are preparing the possible traffic load for the start of the project.

01:04What we can do is to manage the traffic well, especially the rerouting advisory.

01:12The public is expected to see the complete plan next week.

01:16The DPWH announced that they will use reinforced concrete

01:20to make the road more stable against the heavy traffic.

01:24There will also be asphalt overlay with anti-rotting and anti-cracking features

01:29to make the road more durable.

01:31Aside from this, the drainage system will be inspected using high-density polyethylene pipes

01:35to avoid flooding and damage to the road.
