People of Glasgow share their thoughts on vaping and smoking on National Smoking Day

We take to Sauchiehall Street to ask Glaswegians for their opinions on vaping and smoking on National Smoking Day.

00:00I think it must be really, really difficult if you're addicted to either vaping or smoking to stop.

00:04I think vaping probably is as harmful or will be proven to be just as harmful over time.

00:09I think it probably could be just as harmful.

00:11I don't smoke, however my addiction is caffeine

00:15and I think it must be really, really difficult if you're addicted to either vaping or smoking to stop.

00:20So I do have a wee bit of sympathy for some of these people, although I detest smoking.

00:24If life wasn't so stressful, people maybe wouldn't smoke so much, you know.

00:28If the rail prices were a bit cheaper, you know.

00:31If life was just a little bit less stressful then, in my opinion,

00:35I see more people smoking and vaping now than I did five years ago.

00:39So I'd like to see the figures on, you know,

00:42kind of giving up rates and whether they've slowed down considerably

00:46just because modern life is so difficult and stressful, especially for young people.

00:51I suppose the worrying thing is people go straight into vaping without ever having smoked.

00:56So they go that and so it's seeming that it's a viable alternative to smoking.
