What sort of approach would you as Spurs fans like to see in terms of the next manager if
00:06
Andres to go?
00:07
Obviously you say there he's probably very likely he's not going to be in the dugout
00:11
at least in August starting the new season because they've had the sort of approach of
00:16
a young manager, they've had the approach of a world-class proven European manager as
00:22
well.
00:23
So where do they go next if it was an ideal situation?
00:25
We've mentioned before obviously there's not many available names on the manager market
00:29
at the moment, but if there was an ideal world who would you like to see in the Spurs
00:34
dugout?
00:35
Well, I mean, I think for Spurs, I mean, Pocicoglou, the football is the type of football we want
00:41
to play.
00:42
You know, I just think instead of it being 100 mile an hour, you know, we maybe need
00:45
to just ratchet it down to 90 mile an hour, you know, have a little bit more pragmatism,
00:49
learn from mistakes, stop making the same mistakes time and time again.
00:53
You know, the Bournemouth game was a classic example, one of the best pressing teams in
00:57
the league.
00:58
And we just don't change.
00:59
None of the players take responsibility and just try and go long, beat the press for five
01:02
minutes.
01:03
So we, you know, more adaptability, I think is what we need.
01:07
You know, the blueprints there for the good football is a nucleus of really, really talented
01:11
young players.
01:12
You look at the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, you know, he's going to be an absolute
01:16
class act.
01:17
Jed Spence, Sudo, Ivan De Ven, you know, Dom Solanke.
01:22
There's a nucleus there of a really, really good side.
01:26
And if you're looking at, you know, potential replacements, Arreola, you've got to look
01:30
at him.
01:31
I think at Bournemouth, he's done an absolutely fantastic job.
01:33
Very limited budget.
01:34
But the way they play, again, very Tottenham-esque, but with a little bit more control.
01:40
Thomas Frank, you know, a lot of people highly rate Thomas Frank within football.
01:44
I know Johan Lange is a big fan of him.
01:47
So maybe we go down the Thomas Frank route.
01:49
Is it time for him to have a crack at a so-called bigger club?
01:52
No disrespect to Brentford.
01:55
And then do we rekindle the love affair with Mischio Pochettino?
01:58
You know, he's been flirting again with Spurs to come back.
02:01
I mean, you know, if you think back two or three years, Champions League final, you know,
02:06
the way he had us playing on such a few-string budget, you know, not signing a single player
02:10
for one summer.
02:11
We were still banging on the door for the top four.
02:13
We came so close to winning the league a couple of times.
02:17
And then the failures, you know, off the pitch that were well-documented.
02:20
We didn't build again and we didn't back the manager.
02:23
Do you go back, you know, almost like a bad girlfriend?
02:27
I guess I'm not sure.
02:29
The Chelsea sort of appointment there with Pochettino did sort of quell it for me a little bit.
02:35
But then again, you know, is this Daniel Levy's last roll of the dice in terms of his ownership, his tenure?
02:40
Does he do that to get the fans back on side?
02:42
I know a lot of fans would love Pochettino back in the dugout.
02:45
Maybe, you know, with the nucleus of the young team that we have, maybe he's the perfect appointment.
02:51
But, you know, whether he'd leave America, I'm not so sure.
02:55
I think he's supposed to put the money up, you know, I do think he probably would.
02:59
But obviously we wait and see with bated breath.
03:02
I mean, you know, we all want Ansh to succeed as a fan base.
03:06
But as I say, whether he will, he's been given a hell of a lot of time.
03:09
Now he's in his second season and, you know, he's been given longer than a lot of the Spurs managers have had in the past.
03:15
And the results have been much worse.
03:17
So, you know, maybe the writing's on the wall, who knows?
03:20
But let's hope we get over the line against Arsenal first and we've got something to keep fighting for for the rest of the season.
