00:00Looking at Liverpool and Mohamed Salah specifically,

00:03obviously we mentioned before the season started how there was possibilities of him

00:08maybe showing signs of his age and slowing down.

00:11If anything, he's actually sped up.

00:12This season has been absolutely remarkable.

00:16What do you think the key changes have been from adjusting from Klopp to Schlott?

00:20You know, we've mentioned Schlott's a bit more measured, less gung-ho,

00:24and maybe that has clearly played into Salah's favour.

00:27Do you think, as well, there's a better player in world football at the moment?

00:31I mean, he's just absolutely unbelievable and, you know,

00:34there's a prospect of going on to be the best individual season in Premier League history as well.

00:39Yeah, definitely.

00:41It's interesting because obviously, you know, Salah's 32, now going on 33,

00:45and as you said, Jürgen Klopp, his style of football was fairly taxing on players,

00:52and Arnaud Schlott is a little bit different.

00:58Don't get me wrong, Liverpool cover a lot of ground, they make a lot of sprints,

01:01but it's not constant back and forth like a basketball game,

01:06and I think that's definitely helped Mohamed Salah.

01:11Arnaud Schlott's spoken about trying to get him in more one-on-one situations,

01:14putting him a little bit wider and seeing if he can bring him in,

01:17and then if he's a little bit wider and the ball's, say, on the opposite side of the pitch,

01:21maybe defenders just go ball-watching a little bit,

01:25and he can sneak in around the back post and finish them ways,

01:29or get him on the ball, as you say, where he can isolate defenders.

01:33As you say, is he the best player in the world at the moment?

01:35You couldn't argue against it, could you?

01:38With his numbers, absolutely incredible goals and assists.

01:43Kylian Mbappe scored 27 in all competitions for Real Madrid this season,

01:47but he's only got four assists, and Vinicius Junior's got 17 and 10.

01:52Mohamed Salah's ahead of both of those by a long way,

01:57and that's why there's so much talk about him being in the reckoning for the Ballon d'Or,

02:03and Arnaud Schlott said that Liverpool will probably have to go on and win the Premier League,

02:07for him to really have a good shout of that.

02:11But, you know, who else, realistically, are you looking at around the leagues?

02:17Is there anyone, you say, Real Madrid are always going to be up there, aren't they?

02:22So you look at Mbappe or Vinicius, but you couldn't argue against Mohamed Salah,

02:28the numbers that he's putting up, they are incredible,

02:31and it was interesting what Arnaud Schlott said recently at his press conference,

02:35that maybe his numbers will make it a little bit more difficult in terms of the contract now,

02:40because he's not slowing down, he's definitely got, you know,

02:43you only have to look at the shape he's in,

02:44he's definitely got a couple more years operating at the very top level,

02:49and it costs Liverpool a lot of money to replace him.

02:53Is there an out-and-out replacement out there right now?

02:56You'd probably say, no, there isn't.

02:59The only ones that there would be would probably be coming from either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
