00:00The congressmen insisted that any survey that comes out regarding the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte

00:07should be maintained by the Senators as a judgment.

00:20The members of the House Prosecution Panel trust that the Supreme Court will not block

00:25the impeachment complaint of the Camera against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:30The Vice President filed a petition against this and now,

00:34the Supreme Court has already commented on this issue.

00:38According to Manila 3rd District Representative Joel Chua,

00:42there is no sufficient basis for the court to block the impeachment.

00:46First of all, their basis is the one-year prohibition.

00:51If we look at it, the word initiated is written there.

00:55According to our rules, the initiated and the cases filed by the Supreme Court,

01:04the case of Francisco v. House of Representatives,

01:08it is stated here that the initiated needs two things.

01:12First, there should be a filing and second, there should be a referral to the Committee on Justice.

01:17There is no referral to the Committee on Justice.

01:20So I believe that the element of initiated is not complete.

01:25According to that, another House Prosecutor,

01:28Bukidnon 2nd District Representative Jonathan Keith-Flores.

01:32Impeachment is really a political activity and I think the Supreme Court will also respect that

01:37unless there is grave abuse of discretion.

01:40But is there?

01:41I don't think so.

01:43As of now, there is a new survey that came out where it was found that

01:47the majority of Filipinos voted to impeach the Vice President.

01:52But the congressmen are not convinced with this.

01:55Well, there is also a survey that says that 73 percent are in favor of impeachment.

02:04So let's see what the real pulse is.

02:10But when we go around the districts,

02:13we feel that many are giving support to impeachment.

02:18But for me, it does not matter.

02:20I think that should be for the Senate to consider

02:23because they will be deciding as the impeachment court.

02:26We, as prosecutors, we're just assigned to state the facts.

02:35whatever survey comes out, it should not affect the Senate as the impeachment court.

02:41I think the Senate has to maintain its impartiality.

02:45They need to maintain a level of fairness

02:50because ultimately, they will be the one to sit there.
