00:00A PKR leader has challenged Perikatan Nasional to name its Prime Minister candidate for the

00:07next general election, questioning a past MP's claim that the opposition pact has

00:12many qualified candidates.

00:14PKR Deputy Information Chief Chua Wei Kiat said PN had yet to decide on its candidate

00:19for the top post, adding that its components were divided over the issue.

00:24Chua said Bacok MP Shahir Sulaiman can continue criticising the unity government and Prime

00:29Minister Anwar Ibrahim, but noted that PN has yet to reach a consensus on its Prime

00:34Minister candidate.

00:35Without a clear choice, he questioned how the people can trust that PN is capable of

00:40governing the country well.

00:42In November, past Spiritual Advisor Hashim Jassin denied that PN Chairman Muhyiddin Yassin

00:47was the coalition's Prime Minister candidate for GE16 and said PN had yet to decide on

00:52the matter.

00:53Hashim also said that the Islamic Party was more deserving of leading PN since it had

00:59more MPs and a stronger grassroots network nationwide.

01:02However, Gerakan and Bersatu leaders threw their support behind Muhyiddin, saying the

01:07former Prime Minister remained PN's sole candidate for the Prime Minister's position in GE16.
