00:00A disqualification case was filed by the Commission on Elections against a party-list group

00:06that participated in the vote-buying in the Baracu Fest held in the province.

00:10According to the petitioner, the incumbent Vice Mayor, J. Ilagan, of Mataas sa Kahoy, Batangas,

00:16the party-list gave three cars to the province that is worth more than P3 million.

00:25However, J. Ilagan insisted that the distribution of food and other items during the campaign period

00:31will be included in the vote-buying.

00:33This is also clear in the distribution of cars.

00:36This is the first complaint up to the possible vote-buying that was filed by the Comelec

00:43in favor of the 2025 midterm elections.

00:46The Comelec Chairperson, J. Erwin Garcia, said that if there is enough evidence to submit to them,

00:53they will not hesitate to disqualify any of the candidates involved here.

01:01My appeal to the Commission on Elections, we have responded to their appeal.

01:07I hope that this case will be given a swift action.
