01:20So these are strategies and techniques that women find, but which are a double-edged sword each time.

01:28So they manage to protect themselves, to protect their children, etc.

01:33But they find themselves, in spite of themselves, guardians of this patriarchy

01:38which is translated by traditions that serve them, by injunctions that they reproduce, that they impose on them.

01:52The narrator is 17 years old when her mother surprises her by smoking a cigarette in her room.

02:01but which in this traditionalist Moroccan family will trigger a real earthquake.

02:06Beaten by her mother in a real uproar of violence, insulted, denied.

02:11The young girl leaves her home to join Casablanca and finds refuge at her aunt's.

03:24but I think it's just a way of seeing it and apprehending it.
