The Negri Sembilan Department of Environment (DOE) installed air quality monitoring devices to assess pollution levels following a fire in Nilai 3 on Friday (Feb 20) morning.

Speaking at the fire site, he urged the public not to panic, assuring them that the situation

was under control.

Black smoke was visible up to five kilometres away, including from the North-South Expressway

plus towards Surremban.

The massive blaze destroyed a carpet manufacturing factory.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, 58 firefighters from Nilai, Surremban 2, Mantin

and Rantau stations were deployed.

Upon their arrival shortly after 8 am, the factory was already 80 per cent destroyed.

The fire was fully extinguished by 8.55 am, with no casualties reported.
