00:00To me, the Tigers are the most fascinating team because they kind of came out of nowhere last year

00:04and you looked at their squad, especially Matt offensively, you're like, wait a second,

00:08how are they getting this done? It was sort of strange because nobody put up huge offensive

00:13numbers for them, but they had the best pitcher in baseball. They had a great bullpen and that

00:18sort of carried them. So this year they're doubling down a little bit. They've spent some

00:22nice money. They signed Jack Flaherty. He's back in their starting rotation. They've added

00:26Torres to the infield. I don't know what that means for Javi Baez, but he'll just keep eating

00:30the money while he doesn't play, I guess. And then they signed Alex Cobb to a one-year contract.

00:34I believe Cobb may be banged up in the spring. I got to double check that, but I think so.

00:39So look, Tariq Schubel fronts that rotation. As I just mentioned, a couple of nice bullpen

00:44arms in the back end, seven, eight, nine, they play great defense. I know their outfield is

00:49really good too with green and them. So I would expect Detroit to be in this to the end. I guess

00:55it just comes down to, as you said before we went on the air, staying healthy. Like who's going to

00:59stay healthy for this team? Yeah, I agree. And I think that the pitching is what's going to carry

01:05them. There's no question about that. And they have that, and that goes a long way. You know,

01:10that's where you really get worried though, if there is an injury to one of those top starters,

01:14but that's true of every team, of course, and always going to be true in baseball, but they

01:18have enough offense. We saw it last year. And I think too, there's something about a team like

01:23that that gets some experience, that gets a taste of winning and they can carry it over.

01:28They have the talent and in a division where there is no clear-cut favorite, I think, you know,

01:33they're as good of a pick as anyone when you have the best pitcher and when you have some of these

01:37really good young players that they do have.
