'That was the key point': George Bennett on Walsall's return to winning ways

00:00I mean, yeah, conceded inside eight minutes, really poor marking for Chesterfield's opener.

00:10And yeah, just very much a case of what we've seen over recent games, really confidence levels,

00:16not quite looking there, energy levels looking zapped. And yeah, I mean, if it wasn't for kind

00:23of two blocks from Harry Williams, which were crucial, Peppal, the Luton Town Loney squandered

00:32a golden chance for them. You know, it could have very much been sort of 2-3-0 by the break,

00:37really, in Chesterfield's favour. But yeah, came out with a renewed energy in that second half and

00:45just a really surprising performance, to be honest, because, you know, at the break I didn't

00:54expect that whatsoever. And yeah, I think scoring early was key for Walsall there,

01:03sort of after the break, six minutes after, that really then gave them the platform and they really

01:09sort of took it and ran with it, to be honest.

01:12What was kind of the main difference? Was it a case, do you think,

01:15there was a kind of reality that thought, Christ, this can't go on, we can't lose another game,

01:20we can't go another week without getting, you know, a point or three points? You know,

01:24what kind of changed in that second half? Was it back to the Walsall we saw that climbed to the top

01:31of the table and opened up that massive lead? Yeah, well, I think, you know, Taylor Allen's

01:37deliveries were key, obviously sort of led to Jamil Mats' equaliser and I just feel like when

01:46Walsall got that goal, I don't know, the confidence and the belief which, you know, has been absent

01:52really for the past number of games since Walsall have sort of struggled for form,

02:00it just seemed to return again. And they look like the side, you know, that we've become accustomed

02:05to seeing on the sort of ascent up to the top of League Two and, yeah, sort of confidence and

02:11energy levels just seem to return, things just seem to click again. And it was just a really,

02:17really pleasing second half performance, really. It just looked like Walsall's back to the team,

02:22which we've seen and enjoyed so much this season.
