00:00Good news, because the price of rice is continuing to fall in the markets.

00:05Aside from this, the price of onions is also falling.

00:09Civil Custodian of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.

00:14The Department of Agriculture continues to lower the maximum suggested retail price

00:19to 5% broken imported rice.

00:22MSRP of rice is only Php 52 per kilo from the previous Php 55 MSRP.

00:28Although there are still some that are not lowering the Php 52 MSRP,

00:32like a rice in Kamuning Market

00:35where they are just letting the imported rice run out

00:37before changing the price to the upcoming new stocks of rice.

00:41The agencies' target is to lower the MSRP to Php 49 in March.

00:45The DA has also already issued the 150,000 metric tons of NFA rice

00:50to the local government units that signified this week,

00:53following the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.

00:57Their total stocks are 300,000 metric tons.

01:03But what's programmed for now is 150,000 metric tons.

01:07It depends on how many you will buy.

01:10And if there are more, you can still release the others.

01:13But of course, our buffer stock needs to survive for calamity.

01:19Aside from rice, the price of onions is also falling

01:22from Php 240 per kilo.

01:24Php 200 per kilo of onions since February 15.

01:28Meanwhile, the DA is already talking to pork retailers and other stakeholders

01:33for the maximum suggested retail price of pork in March.

01:37According to the DA, the retail price of pork should not reach Php 400.

01:42The vaccination of African Swine Fever Vaccines will continue

01:46where 30,000 have already been vaccinated against ASF.
