00:34Here they found various types of allegedly smuggled high-end luxury cars including an expensive motorcycle worth over 360 million pesos.
00:43We received information that there were smuggled, suspected smuggled that did not pay duties and taxes and were hidden or displayed here in Makati.
00:55We conducted surveillance and we validated that we saw supercars.
01:00Authorities sent a letter of authority or law against the warehouse owner to be able to determine
01:06whether the vehicles are legitimate and ensure that they are paying proper taxes.
01:11The owner of the warehouse was given 15 days to submit proof of payment of duties and taxes of the vehicles.
01:17But if they fail to comply, they may face a case of violation of Republic Act 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
01:26BOC will also recommend the issuance of a Warrant of Seizure and Detention or WSD after which the vehicles will be towed and be taken to the BOC.
01:35If we find out that there are smuggled goods there, we will immediately act on it and validate it.
01:41And when we operate the area, we will seize all of it or seize the Bureau of Customs.
01:48It can be recalled that the BOC also entered warehouses in Pasay and Paranaque City just recently
01:55where up to 1.4 billion pesos worth of various smuggled luxury vehicles were confiscated.
