00:00Historical markers are being installed at key sites to commemorate significant events in the

00:06nation's past. This initiative highlights locations that played a role in shaping history

00:12and national identity. It aims to promote awareness and appreciation of the country's

00:16journey toward independence and self-governance. Shane Frias Velasco from Philippine Information

00:23Agency Central Luzon tells us more. The National Historical Commission of the

00:29Philippines or NHCP has officially installed the Landas ng Pagkabansang Pilipino 8099 marker

00:36at the Pamintuan Mansion in Angeles City. This initiative is part of the three-year

00:41commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence

00:46and the inauguration of the First Republic which runs from June 12, 2023 to March 23,

00:532026. NHCP Executive Director Carminda Arevalo said the Pamintuan Mansion was chosen for this

01:01recognition due to its significant role in shaping the Philippines as a nation.

01:23By 2026, the NHCP aims to complete the installation of historical markers

01:40at key sites that played a role in the nation-building process of the Philippines.
