00:00Nothing about Ukraine without the Ukrainians, and nothing about Europe without the Europeans.

00:07That is what we agree on. We agree on that with all our friends and partners in Europe.

00:13To be clear, a peace must be long-term. It must ensure the sovereignty of Ukraine.

00:19That is why a dictatorship peace will never find our support.

00:23We will not accept a solution that leads to a decoupling of European and American security.

00:30Only one person would benefit from that – President Putin.

00:35But at the same time, it is clear that a victory of Russia or a collapse of Ukraine will not create peace.

00:41On the contrary.

00:43This puts peace and stability in Europe at risk, also far beyond Ukraine.

00:50That is why, together with our partners, we must confidently represent our interests in the upcoming negotiations.

00:58We are committed to that, because they are our immediate priority.

01:03We must do everything to ensure that there will never be war in Germany again.

01:09I know that these are unusual and, for many, certainly disturbing words coming out of the Chancellor's mouth.

01:17But in this situation, this statement is part of the truth.

01:21Because these are days of war and peace in Europe.
