00:00In support of the Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, the Philippine National Police, or PNP,

00:05is intensifying its security measures against vote-buying as the campaign period for the 2025

00:12midterm elections officially begins today. According to Police Regional Office 3 Director

00:18and PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo, the PNP will focus on enforcing

00:24the money ban five days before the elections. Individuals carrying cash amounts of 500,000

00:31pesos or more at checkpoints will be required to provide an explanation. While possessing

00:37such amounts is not prohibited, Fajardo emphasized that this measure ensures the

00:42money is for legitimate transactions and not for potential vote-buying. The PNP Anti-Cyber

00:49Group will also conduct cyber patrolling in partnership with e-wallet platforms

00:54to monitor online transactions of candidates.
