I'm actually from Pampanga, but the place where I actually live is Santo Tomas and within
00:11
that area we have Minalin, San Vicente, San Machas, all of these places are actually underwater
00:18
right now.
00:19
They were given information that a couple of people actually died in our town.
00:25
The Pampanga tail dike was actually damaged so around about 7 to 10 feet of water actually
00:31
came.
00:32
It was, we call it a flash flood back home.
00:35
Our house is actually underwater and because it was very unfortunate that there was no
00:41
warning so everything is damaged, appliances, even clothes, everything is underwater so
00:49
we didn't manage to save anything, but luckily my family is safe.
00:54
I mean everything that was damaged you can replace it, but losing a loved one, you can
00:58
never replace a loved one, you can never replace a person, an individual's life.
01:02
So if they were here, of course I would hug them and tell them I love them.
01:05
All of them were safe, but except for the house, it has to be renovated again, but then
01:11
it's okay.
01:12
At least the family is safe.
01:13
Because we live in the center part of Metro Manila and the habagat victims were mostly
01:19
in Metro Manila basically.
01:22
We heard about the news.
01:23
Our group initiated and initiated the collection of all the relief goods for the Filipino people
01:33
in the Philippines.
01:34
When you see the people back home, the news that are affected by the floods, it's in you.
01:42
You have to help them.
01:44
Lots of trees have been cut and that's why it's flooding I guess.
01:50
The flooded habagat of the Philippines is really devastating and I feel like, I mean,
01:55
this is one way of sharing the blessing that I received.
01:58
So I volunteered to donate some goods and pack for our co-Filipinos.
02:06
We all pulled together things from around our household that can help, such as blankets.
02:15
Myself, I brought blankets and beddings and canned goods.
02:22
Every time there is some need for help, we always come together via Facebook, phone,
02:31
internet and then we decide just to start collecting relief goods.
02:36
People from the office just gathered some goods and some pledges.
02:40
We will donate some canned goods, some toothbrushes and toothpicks and blankets to help the flood
02:46
victims in the Philippines.
02:48
I invite most of the lifeguards working in Atlantis, Apo Venture, and then ask them for
02:55
small donations, clothing, food or whatever they can give.
03:02
We have collected some old clothes, food and some toys for the children and linens.
03:10
We have chosen one Christian church, they call it the Joy's Church Group and they are
03:16
based in Bulacan so they are going to collect this and send it to the Philippines.
03:22
As of now, we have already collected and we have already filled up seven boxes.
03:26
Actually, LBC is helping us.
03:29
They are going to send the box free directly to the Philippine Red Cross.
03:35
I hope more volunteers will come and this will be not only now, it will be an ongoing project.
03:43
One of the best ways to help the Philippines is to donate to the Philippine Red Cross.
03:49
The Philippine Red Cross has been there in all calamities and they need all the help
03:55
that they can get.
03:56
Well, it feels nice to help others and to share your blessings with others, especially
04:00
the needy ones.
04:01
Please keep on helping.
04:03
This is every time something like this will come so tap into your hearts, just help a little.
