00:12US and British warships were deployed today to the typhoon-ravaged Philippines, where

00:17more than 10,000 people are feared dead and countless survivors are begging for help in

00:21rain-soaked wastelands. Four days after Super Typhoon Haiyan destroyed entire coastal towns,

00:28the magnitude of the disaster continues to build. Nearly 10 million people have been

00:32affected while 660,000 have lost their homes. There's good news for some Filipinos based

00:38in the UAE, as they have received word from their families in typhoon-hit Tacloban. But

00:43for many others, it's all about fearful waiting for news.

00:48Iran's foreign minister has lashed out at US Secretary of State on Twitter after John

00:52Kerry said Iranians were unable to accept the nuclear deal that major powers were unified

00:57on in Geneva.

00:58Mr. Secretary, was it Iran that gutted over half of US draft Thursday night and publicly

01:04commented against it Friday morning, tweeted Zarif, presumably referring to France, which

01:09was reportedly blamed by diplomats for the failure of the talks.

01:13Egypt is the worst country to be a woman in in the Arab world today, followed closely

01:17by Iraq and Saudi Arabia. That's according to a Thomson Reuters poll on 22 Arab states.

01:23Egypt scored badly in almost every category, including gender violence, reproductive rights,

01:28treatment of women in the family, and their inclusion in politics and the economy.

01:33In sport, Novak Djokovic reigned supreme at the ATP World Tour finals yet again, as the

01:38defending champion crushed world number one Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4 in last night's final.

01:44In cricket, AB de Villa stormed to an unbeaten century to help South Africa beat Pakistan

01:49by 117 runs in the final one day at Insharjah last night. The win gives the Proteas a 4-1

01:56victory in the series.

01:58Viewers of the National Geographic channel are slightly more interested in the Kennedy

02:02assassination than the killing of Abraham Lincoln, enough to set a viewing record for

02:06the 12-year-old network. The Killing Kennedy film was watched by 3.4 million people on

02:11Sunday night, edging out the telecast of Killing Lincoln to become the most watched show ever

02:16on the network by 3,000 viewers. Killing Kennedy airs in the UAE on November 17th.

02:23And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 30 degrees Celsius, dropping

02:27to 22 at night.
