Live from Radio Row, Sports Grid's coverage of Super Bowl 59 continues. Joe Lisi alongside star
00:09
defensive end from the University of South Carolina, Dylan Stewart, and Mark Singleton,
00:14
vice president of sales and marketing from Southern Recipe. Gentlemen, thanks for joining
00:21
us. Great atmosphere here in New Orleans. Yeah, great, great. Mark, in regards to just the
00:29
atmosphere here in New Orleans, give us your thoughts just about the big game and what it
00:34
represents to your organization. Well, you know, we've been coming here for 15 years and this party
00:41
gets better every year. The media gets bigger, the event gets bigger, this is the biggest party
00:46
in the world, and this is the best sporting event in the world. We're so happy to be here with you
00:50
today celebrating Dylan's unbelievable year this year in college football. Dylan, I know it's a
00:55
huge matchup on Sunday. Do you have a prediction or a team you're backing, Kansas City or Philadelphia?
01:02
Philly, 31-28. All right. I heard it. Yeah, you talk about those dominant defensive ends. I mean,
01:10
especially playing in the SEC. Just give us your thoughts about playing in the conference. Playing
01:17
in the SEC is a great, great responsibility and a great privilege. Yeah, it is, right? I mean,
01:23
dominant. Is there one moment that stands out for you last year in terms of leading South Carolina?
01:30
I see one of the moments where, like, Texas A&M game. Took it over, took it over. Mark, I know
01:40
you created a great award. Dylan is going to win that award this year. Just talk to us about the
01:47
organization and what you developed for Rudolph Foods. Yeah, you know, we wanted to celebrate the
01:52
crunch time heroes of the game. You know, the players in the pit, the players along the offensive
01:57
and defensive line that have that definitive play, that crunch time play that changes the whole game.
02:02
You mentioned the third quarter that A&M were dealing. They changed that game and we wanted to
02:07
celebrate that hero because, you know, a lot of times offensive and defensive linemen are overlooked,
02:11
kind of like pork rinds. So we thought it was kind of a natural. And we did this award to help the
02:17
Archer Foundation, which is a 501c3 that helps. There's a really horrible cancer out there called
02:26
DIPG. We named it after a brave young man called Archer Hill. And we're raising money to help the
02:33
families because this cancer only strikes 300 children a year. And it is fatal. It is lethal.
02:39
There's no cure. And we want to raise money to let these families have the best quality of life
02:45
they can, as long as they can.
02:47
Yeah, absolutely. And Dylan will win the award, right? Last year, you started it.
02:51
He's won the award. As a matter of fact, Dylan chose a wonderful charity in Columbia to help.
02:57
And he presented a check for $5,000 to the food bank.
03:01
Awesome. And I know I brought it up to you off air, but talk to me just about playing in Williams-Brice,
03:07
what it means for you and the atmosphere there in Columbia.
03:11
It means a lot. Being a recruit and being off the field is a great feeling when you're on the field
03:18
making plays.
03:19
Awesome, right? Awesome. Is there one player that you emulate your game off of? Do you think that
03:26
your performance will look like Davion Clowney back in the day? Or is there somebody else you like?
03:32
I think I have my own type of game, like my own play style. So I don't really see nobody.
03:36
That's awesome. That's awesome. Gentlemen, thanks for joining us today.
03:40
Great insight from both Mark Singleton and star defensive end, Dylan Stewart.
