00:15More than 100 hikers from various places joined the 3rd edition of the Kalinga-Luminawa Trekking Adventure set in the town of Balbalan from February 5 to 7, 2025.
00:27The trekking event took the participants through the Banao Protected Landscape along trails passing through mossy diptero carp and pine forests and beautiful views and landscapes along the Saltan River.
00:39Highlights of the event include a trek from Mount Nabanderaan to the Pamucilon Camping Ground and a hike to Dupligan and the Old Spanish Trail.
00:47The highest peak of the Banao Protected Landscape is found in Mount Sapukoy with an altitude of 2,456 meters above sea level, overlooking the Ilocos region on the west side and the Cagayan region on the east side.
01:06A victory night was also hosted on the second night to welcome the trekkers and make them experience Kalinga culture with performances of native dances by locals.
