A U.S. district court in Massachusetts will hold a hearing on a lawsuit filed against
00:07
Donald Trump's administration policy that would force thousands of federal employees
00:12
to resign.
00:13
This demand is a consequence of the deferred resignation offer presented by the government,
00:18
which allows federal employees to leave their jobs while receiving pay until the end of
00:23
September.
00:24
However, it has been criticized as a solution that does not address the needs.
00:28
In this sense, it is worth noting that the unions demand the government to implement
00:33
a policy that is legal rather than arbitrary, illegal and short-term ultimatum that workers
00:39
cannot comply with.
00:40
According to reports, at least 40,000 of these employees have already accepted the agreement,
00:46
which represents about 2% of the nearly 2 million federal employees on record.
