Do Police Community Support Officers make a real difference in preventing crime and improving community safety, or should we just have regular police officers with full powers Instead?

00:00I guess they make an impact. They must do, otherwise they wouldn't have them.

00:04I'm not sure. I think, yeah, I imagine they do something,

00:10but I know there's only a limited amount of things that they can do right.

00:14I think they're valuable in the communities, the special officers,

00:18because I think they get closer to the community,

00:21and I think if they work hand in hand with the proper police force,

00:25I think it's of some value. Yes, I do.

00:33I know they're not police officers, but they're probably quite useful.

00:36Oh, yeah, I think they are, yeah.

00:38The more presence on the streets, the more the better.

00:41I haven't had a lot of experience with the police,

00:44but in theory I think it's good to have people in uniform

00:48with some degree of liaison with the main force,

00:52so I would certainly think it's worth continuing

00:57that kind of approach.
