00:00The 6'4 forward of the Terrafirma Jeep, Vic Manuel, is happy to have a league for the Filipino Basketball players.

00:08In the inaugural season of the Women's Marlica Philippines Basketball League or WMPBL,

00:13Manuel is one of the coaches of the BSP Lady Gimers.

00:16His head coach Terrence Romeo is happy that he is looking at this as a big experience for his career.

00:23Although it is not new for him to coach a team,

00:26Manuel shared in PPV Sports a challenge for him to share his knowledge to the Filipino Basketball players for the first time.

00:36This is a big thing for me. It's also an experience as a player.

00:40For me, coaching is not my first time.

00:44We also coached you in the PBA D-League PSP Team.

00:47I also coached developmental players under 15, 14, and 18.

00:53It's just an additional experience for me. That's why I grabbed it.

00:58Manuel also added that he has a lot of respect for the female players

01:03where they will finally be given a chance to be a professional basketball player one day.

01:10This is a very good thing.

01:12We know that there are a lot of good women basketball players.

01:16They were given a chance and opportunity to play in this league.

01:20I know that after the UAPNCA, they don't have a league like this.

01:26League like Barangay or Open.

01:29This is a big opportunity for them.

01:34For now, Manuel and Romeo and other coaching staff are building the chemistry and confidence of the Lady Gimers

01:41who are now breaking the 0-2 record in the said league.
