00:00Doug Marone, former Bills and Jags head coach, is going to be the offensive line coach for

00:05Mike Rabel.

00:06Thomas Brown is going to be the tight ends coach and passing game coordinator.

00:10He was an interim head coach for the Bears, not that it went great last year once he became

00:13the interim head coach, but these are veteran coaches who aren't first-timers, littered

00:19throughout the coaching staff like it was a year ago.

00:22And the irony, Keith, as you said earlier, Gerard Mayo is the one who needed all these

00:26guys.

00:27Needed all these guys.

00:28Gerard Mayo needed.

00:29Gerard Mayo needed McDaniels.

00:30He needed Doug Marone.

00:31He needed Thomas Brown or people like that.

00:35And they gave him none of it, where with Rabel, they're doing it.

00:37So I'm not criticizing them for bringing in experienced coaches with Rabel.

00:41That's good.

00:42And I like that it's not just all Rabel guys from Tennessee, too.

00:45That's another nice byproduct of this.

00:49They hire a Texas A&M guy.

00:50Like there's like young guys.

00:51There's old guys.

00:52There's all kinds of stuff.

00:53Marone, if I'm not mistaken, Marone and Bill O'Brien have a connection, which I think is

00:56illustrated by him spending last year at BC.

00:59But I remember when Bill O'Brien was the OC here a couple of years ago, there was some

01:02talk of him and Marone being a package deal.

01:04I think they might have overlapped at Alabama.

01:30So, you know, those are not necessarily Rabel guys from Tennessee.

01:35And I like that they're getting outside that comfort zone a bit, but they're spending on

01:39real coaches.

01:40These aren't just interns promoted to the next job.

01:43These are real NFL coaches.

01:45And while they're saving a few bucks on Josh McDaniels, because he's still getting paid

01:48by the Raiders, hopefully they're spending on these guys.

01:50Let's say that's a good sign for the crafts.

01:53Although, as the Twitch chat pointed out earlier, expensive coaching staff equals cheaping

01:57out on the roster, which I guess remains to be seen.

02:02They haven't had the opportunity to spend money on players yet in free agency or bring

02:05in guys and trade that they're going to have to sign to new deals yet.

02:09I do think overall, this is somewhat promising, though.
