00:00Today, Axel Ruda-Cabana has been sentenced for his cowardly and terrifying attack on

00:04the young girl's heart space on the 29th of July.

00:08Although no outcome at court today could possibly ease the pain and trauma for the victims and

00:13their families, I hope that knowing Ruda-Cabana will spend a considerable amount of time in

00:18prison will at least bring some comfort to comforts.

00:21His horrifying attack resulted in the deaths of Bebe, Elsie and Alice and the thoughts

00:27of everyone at Merseyside Police remain with their families.

00:31His shocking actions also resulted in serious injuries both physical and psychological to

00:36the other young girls and adults who will continue to be affected to this day.

00:41As the judge has said today, the harm of Ruda-Cabana caused each family and each child and the

00:47community has been profound and permanent.

00:49The judge added that it is likely that Ruda-Cabana will never be released and will spend the

00:54rest of his life in custody.

00:58This was the most harrowing large scale investigation that our force has ever dealt with and I wish

01:05to praise the commitment, dedication and sheer determination of the investigation team who

01:10have never had to deal with anything like this before.
