00:00The Armed Forces of the Philippines did not consider the Chinese national arrested for espionage to be an isolated incident.

00:22According to the record obtained by the Bureau of Immigration, the Chinese national was arrested in the Philippines since 2015 for espionage.

00:33He was said to have a Filipino wife.

00:36The BIA has now shared the details obtained by the National Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department.

00:43According to BIA Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado,

00:46there will be no deportation of the arrested suspect as long as the punishments are not imposed.

00:53They will also help in dealing with possible incidents here in the Philippines.

00:58The Armed Forces of the Philippines did not consider the Chinese national arrested for espionage to be an isolated incident.

01:06They will investigate the possible connection to the other incident related to national security.

01:13It is part of a larger strategy that challenges our sovereignty and security.

01:21So therefore, sir, it is crucial for us to view these actions as interconnected elements that is part of a broader plan.

01:30The investigation of the high-tech devices used in the arrest of the Chinese continues.

01:35It has already visited several EDCA sites and military facilities in Luzon,

01:40including power plants and sub-stations of the NGCP last month.

01:45This equipment is used to map and survey our critical infrastructures, strategic areas,

01:56including our police and military camps and installations, our ports, our ports,

02:04and the malls, which are very crowded places.
