00:00The Philippine National Police is now against China's statement that the security in the Philippines is unstable.
00:06The PNP also affirmed that they have a mandate to protect everyone inside the country,
00:11regardless of their nationality.
00:14This is what Ryan Leziguez has to say.
00:19The Philippine National Police or PNP has accused China of having an improper security situation in the country.
00:26According to PNP Chief PIO Police Colonel Randolph Tuanyo, the country's security is fine.
00:32They also said that they have not received a report on the harassment of Chinese nationals in the country.
00:37Tuanyo made the statement after the Chinese Embassy released their report to their fellow Filipinos who plan to visit the Philippines.
00:47The Chinese Embassy also described the unstable public security situation in the country.
00:53We understand the advisories that are being issued by various countries regarding their citizens.
01:05What we are saying is that the PNP is mandated to serve and protect.
01:13It means that all the people here in the Philippines, whether you are a local or an alien,
01:21you will be protected by the Philippine National Police.
01:25Meanwhile, the PNP will not lower its alert level this summer vacation and Holy Week.
01:29In fact, the heightened alert status will last until May 31, 2025.
01:36Tuanyo said that even though the country's police is not monitoring the situation,
01:40during the two-month summer vacation, they deployed more than 4,000 police officers throughout the country.
01:46They will be accompanied by airports, seaports, bus terminals, roads, places of worship, and places of convergence.
01:56They will also place police assistance desks in certain areas to alert the public.
02:03As you can see, the activities of the PNP during the two-month summer vacation of 2025
02:10include the activities of Veterans Day, Kagitingan, Holy Week, and Labor Day.
02:20As you can see, last year, Kagitingan was celebrated in Region 3 and NCR.
02:28And Kagitingan was held in Region 3.
02:31Our deployment is nationwide. This is for Holy Week and Labor Day.
02:37So the small portion of our deployment, 40,151 to be exact, the small portion is in Region 3 and NCR.
02:46Aside from the anti-criminality campaign, the police will also monitor the beach resorts
02:51due to the high number of people drowning during the vacation.
02:55According to the PNP, during the summer vacation of 2023, only 125 people were drowned, while 97 in 2024.
03:04As a reminder to the public, the PNP will immediately report to the police
03:08if there are people or objects being noticed in their respective areas.
03:12If we can notice, last year, in 2023, we only recorded one robbery incident
03:20where this happened in Region 2.
03:23So in our well-known tourist spots last year, we were not involved in any robbery or theft
03:29in our well-known beaches.
03:31But we are not going to be complacent in 2025.
03:35We will continue the deployment of our policemen in tourist spots.
03:40These are the tourist police that we call.
03:42From here in Campo Crame, Ryan Lizigues for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
