01:20In the United States, the new Trump administration eliminated all protection for migrants taking

01:27refugee in churches, shelters, schools and other places, took spine anti-immigrant law

01:33enforcement in order to arrest and deport them to their countries of origin.

01:40The acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, DHS, Benjamin Hoffman,

01:48announced in a statement the end of Joe Biden's policies and criticized the previous administration

01:55for abusing the so-called humanitarian parole program that encouraged 1.5 million migrants

02:03to enter the country.

02:05In other communique, DHS informed about the restatement and resumption of the 2019 Border

02:13Protection Policy, which allows officials in charge to return migrants to neighboring

02:20countries while deportation procedures are completed.

02:30The Nicaraguan Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement the death on Tuesday night

02:36of the former President of El Salvador, Carlos Mauricio Funes Cartagena, as a result of his

02:43serious chronic illness.

02:46Mauricio Funes became President of El Salvador on the hand of the Farabundo Martí National

02:52Liberation Front, with 51.32% of the valid votes, and governed along with his Vice President,

03:01Salvador Sánchez Urán, from 2009 to 2014.

03:07Funes was living in Nicaragua since 2016 after being persecuted by Salvadoran authorities

03:15who accused him of embezzlement, illicit entrenchment, and bribery.

03:28The Argentine human rights organization, Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo, announced on Tuesday

03:34that it had found granddaughter 139 kidnapped during the 1976 civic-military detectorship.

03:44The found girl is the daughter of Noemí Beatriz Macedo and Daniel Alfredo Inama.

03:52Both disappeared.

03:54The recovered granddaughter was born between January and February of 1978, and as is customary

04:02in these cases, her name is kept secret.

04:06The fathers of the found grandfather were kidnapped in November of 1977, when Macedo

04:13was six or seven months pregnant.

04:16Both were members of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Argentina, and were seen

04:23by survivors in the clandestine detention and extermination center club El Atlético

04:29in Buenos Aires.

04:31Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo has been working for years to restore the identity of at least

04:38500 children who were stolen from their families by the last civic-military dictatorship in

04:45the country.

04:54Abuelas de la Plaza de Mayo announces with great happiness the restitution of another

05:00granddaughter kidnapped during the last civil-military dictatorship.

05:06Today, we welcome the daughter of Noemí Beatriz Macedo and Daniel Alfredo Inama.

05:15In other news, the Cuban foreign ministry denounced the continuous U.S. attacks on the

05:21Cuban people in view of Trump's decision to reincorporate the Caribbean island on the

05:27U.S. state sponsors of terrorism list.

05:30In this sense, the ministry expressed that U.S. President Donald Trump has been attacking

05:36Cuba from day one and without any pretext.

05:41It also pointed out that the decision to re-establish measures against the island that were revoked

05:48by former U.S. President Joe Biden is a demonstration of the aggressiveness of the U.S. in pre-releasing

05:55against the sovereignty, peace and well-being of the Cuban population.

06:01Moreover, the institution stated that the inclusion of Cuba once again on the arbitrary

06:08list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism is evidence of an absolute disregard for the

06:16truth.

06:22They play with it like it's something.

06:24They promise to take it out, they promise to put it in.

06:26They play with the parties, with the lobbies, depending on how the Cuban lobby or the anti-Cuban

06:32lobby is doing in the United States.

06:34They play with that to see what can they win, to see how many votes they can get.

06:38Biden did it on his way out, Trump did it on his way in.

06:41Let's see what Trump does when he gets out again, whether in the end he puts U.S. in

06:46or takes U.S. out or leaves U.S.

06:48As long as that continues to depend on a presidential signature, as long as that continues to be

06:53something that a president can declare and that can be done that way, not in the same

06:58week but in the months that follow, that's going to continue to be a regrettable thing

07:02and it would be very good if we weren't on that list.

07:05It is not even a commitment, but rather an act of mercy for them, at the end of their

07:09administration to remove U.S. from that list.

07:12But it is already evident that this is some kind of diversion or something that makes

07:16no sense to them, and they have included U.S. again, as well as they have so often intensified

07:21the repression and all the economic measures so that the Cuban people cannot prosper.

07:39The National Secretary of Risk Management of Ecuador reported the overflowing of the

07:45Las Juntas and Agua Viva rivers in the provinces of Los Rios and Loja due to heavy rains.

07:53The authorities report that the overflowing of the rivers affected two vehicles and a

07:59family in the sector of San Pedro de Vilcabamba and in floods in the province of Loja.

08:06On the other hand, also indicate that the overflows are due to heavy rainfall due to

08:12the winter season and that no human losses have been reported.

08:18The entity warned of the risk of flooding in other rivers that tend to increase their

08:24water level in the provinces of Morona, Santiago, Los Rios, and Guayas.

08:37In Brazil, heavy rains in the state of Rio Grande do Sul caused the deaths of five people.

08:44The municipality of Santa Victoria do Palmar was affected by floods after recording 400

08:51millimeters of rain in a few hours, equivalent to one-third of the average for the whole year.

09:06by the heavy flooding, while soybean and rice crops were completely submerged under

09:12the water.

09:14Rescue teams are working to enter isolated areas in order to obtain a more complete assessment

10:05Displaced Colombians fleeing the army conflict in the Catatumbo region were transferred from

10:11Casigualcubo to Santa Barbara del Zulia.

10:16According to Venezuelan authorities, the displaced have been attended to in terms of security

10:22and health.

10:23The military deployment has been key to guaranteeing access to shelters set up in an organized

10:30manner.

10:31The army confrontations in the border region have forced hundreds of people to abandon

10:36their homes.

10:38In view of this fact, the Venezuelan government, in solidarity with the Colombian people, set

10:43up checkpoints on the suburbs of the Bolivarian National Guard for the immediate attention

10:51of the Colombian families affected during these situations.

11:00The government of Venezuela declared on Tuesday the former president of Colombia, Álvaro

11:06Uribe Vélez and Iván Duque, as public enemies of the country, terrorists, and persons non-gratis.

11:15The action, taken during an ordinary session of the Venezuelan National Assembly, comes

11:21in response to a recent statement made by Uribe, who is linked to paramilitary groups

11:28and drug traffickers.

11:30The former Colombian head of state requests a foreign military intervention in Venezuelan

11:36territory with the purpose of encouraging conflict in the country.

11:41In this context, Iván Duque was also regarded as a public enemy of the nation for his terrorist

11:48acts against the Venezuelan people.

11:51Both former presidents are considered paramilitary terrorists responsible for numerous assassinations.

11:59Considering the honorable deputies who agree with the project presented and the modifications

12:11carried out during the debate, it has been approved unanimously the agreement that declares

12:20as a public enemy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela the paramilitary, terrorist,

12:26drug traffickers, fascists, criminals, representatives of the international extreme right wing,

12:31Álvaro Uribe Vélez and Iván Duque.

12:34President of Venezuela's National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, also referred to the actions

12:41of the extreme right wing.

12:44He encouraged all of the actions of the extreme right wing of Venezuela, that are his daughters

12:52and sons, and their mercenaries, Juan Guaidó, Machado, Leopoldo López, they are all mercenaries

13:07of Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

13:10For his part, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during the meeting with the

13:15Economic Council, assured that Venezuela will continue with great productive and economic

13:21advances which are focused on cooperative projects with ALBA-TCP.

13:29The sector has made progress and is optimistic in extending its productive activities.

13:40We still have to recover the whole sector of over 250 industries that are at the hands

13:48of the state, and all of them need to be productive 100% without any excuse.

15:19A senior official of the Iraqi Resistance urged U.S. forces to withdraw from the region,

15:36The announcement was made by the Secretary-General of the Hezbollah Movement al-Najuba al-Shayd

15:42al-Khran al-Khabi, who took the opportunity to thank Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen for support

15:50their retaliatory attacks against the U.S. Army.

15:54The official expressed that Iraq will continue to support the Palestinian people, assuring

16:00that there is not room for weakness, withdrawal, or fear.

16:13In parallel to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army and extremist settlers terrorized

16:20the Palestinian population in the occupied West Bank.

16:25On Monday night, several Palestinian citizens were injured while vehicles, commercial facilities,

16:31and parts of houses were burned, following an attack by dozens of heavily-armed Israeli

16:38settlers.

16:39The arrest occurred in a village located east of the Qalqilya city, while the attackers

16:46were protected by occupation army troops.

16:49At the same time, the occupying forces carried out arrests in several areas of the West Bank

16:56and blocked access to several localities.

17:15U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he could implement new sanctions against Russia

17:23if President Vladimir Putin refuses to negotiate with him on a ceasefire with Ukraine.

17:31During a press conference at the White House, the U.S. President declared that his contact

17:36with his Russian counterpart could take place very soon, and stressed the need to put an

17:44end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

17:48On the other hand, Trump warned that it seems likely that he could impose additional sanctions

17:55on Russia if Putin refuses to enter into negotiations with him.

18:01Moreover, the U.S. head of state did not give a clear answer to reporters when asked whether

18:08this new administration could continue to send arms to Kiev, or whether it is considering

18:16discontinuing these supplies.

18:23In South Korea, detained President John Sekule denied Tuesday that he had ordered troops

18:30to first remove lawmakers from the National Assembly after declaring martial law.

18:37During his hearing, John Sekule claimed that his actions were not aimed at blocking the

18:43Assembly, but were a warning to the opposition Liberal Democratic Party for undermining the

18:50government actions.

18:52He also denied that he had sent a note to Finance Minister Cho Sang-mook on the day

18:58martial law was imposed, asking him to prepare a budget for an emergency legislative body.

19:07The National Assembly impeached the detained president and suspended his powers.

19:13The Constitutional Court has until June to decide whether to permanently remove him or

19:19reinstate him.
