00:00An NGO has slammed the police after a case involving several TikTok videos allegedly

00:07spreading hate speech against the Malaysian Indian community was classified as requiring

00:12no further action. Global Human Rights Federation President S. Shashi Kumar said the police report

00:18filed in August last year showed that the videos touched on three R elements of race,

00:24royalty and religion. According to a letter cited by FMT, the Deputy Public Prosecutor's

00:30Office advised the discontinuance of the case on grounds that no crime was committed.

00:36Shashi said the assertion that no crime had been committed was utterly unacceptable and said it

00:41was a troubling double standard when it comes to matters affecting non-Muslims. Claiming selective

00:47enforcement of the law, Shashi said non-Muslims were not only treated differently but were also

00:53subjected to unjust scrutiny while serious offences against them were dismissed. The

00:58videos allegedly claimed that there is no Indian race but only one Tamil race,

01:03ignoring the different Indian ethnicities such as the Telugu, Malayali, Punjabi and others.

01:09The videos also allegedly labelled Indian mothers as prostitutes and Hindu worshippers as pigs

01:14and contained threatening remarks against India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
