00:00Polar Celtic are through to the next round of the Scottish Cup. They've just won 2-1
00:06here against Kilmarnock, an entertaining clash at Celtic Park. I have to say it
00:10wasn't the most convincing performance from Celtic, created a number of good
00:14chances but didn't have the composure to put Killy to the sword, in particular
00:18Kyogo Furuhashi, the man at the moment in terms of transfer speculation missing a
00:22glut of chances. Celtic had 18 shots in this match but only converted two of them.
00:27They took the lead with Callum McGregor on 12 minutes, a nice seven from outside
00:31the penalty box and then missed a sack full of really good chances in the first
00:35half and paid for it when there was a goal right on half-time, Scopa Bobby
00:40Wales, although controversially the ball appeared to hit the hand of Robbie Dees
00:44on the way through to Wales. The goal survived a VAR check and the game
00:50was won all at the interval. Celtic to their credit came out in the second half
00:53and dominated the game really. They were surging forward wave
00:57after wave of attack. Kilmarnock did well to resist them, a combination of good blocks
01:01and also some very pure finishing but finally on the 60th minute, Dijzen Maida netted the
01:07winner in his goal in his return match, slotting Cooley home after Nicholas
01:12Coon found him with a neat pass. Celtic could have won this game a lot more
01:15comfortably, probably should have, but they did have another moments at the back.
01:18Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers had a couple of scares with Bobby
01:22Wales and Marley Watkins and it's fair to say that Celtic are still in a slight
01:27mini-funk, mini-slump if you want to call it. They're not quite as sparkling as
01:31they were at the start of the season. Brendan Rodgers has put that down to a
01:35tough schedule and also the fact that all teams do go through a slight dip in
01:39form. Celtic are probably experiencing theirs right now. They'll hope to snap
01:42out of it on Wednesday when they return here to face a higher calibre of
01:47opposition in young boys in the Champions League. Remember a win would
01:50take them into the knockout stages of the Champions League. So there's room
01:54for improvement for Celtic but the holders and Brendan Rodgers move into
01:57the next round of the Scottish Cup and I'll sign off by saying that Brendan Rodgers has
02:00still yet to lose a match in this competition across two spells. Quite a
02:04remarkable run from the Northern Irishman. Full-time at Celtic Park, Celtic 2,
02:09Kilimanjaro 1.
