Jaime, who prefers the 'they' pronoun, said the makeover was less about trying to look exactly like iconic Kim and more about embracing - and celebrating their true selves. Reflecting on the final look, Jaime said: “I hope that with today’s transformation I can make someone who may look like me or feel like me, feel beautiful and feel confident in themselves." 00:00Today, I'm having a makeover inspired by my hero, Kim Kardashian.

00:09I was born biologically male.

00:11I just felt so stuck where I was at and I knew what I needed to do was to come out as

00:15a trans woman.

00:16I think this makeover will definitely help me just feel confident.

00:21Oh my god.

00:25I started buying my own women's clothing when I got my first job when I was 17 years old.

00:30When I was a kid, I used to ask my mom for dresses and t-shirts of the Powerpuff Girls

00:36or anything that just made me feel feminine.

00:40I came out as transgender this past June.

00:43It was a very freeing experience and I'm very happy that I did.

00:49Today I'm getting a makeover inspired by Kim Kardashian.

00:52She's such an inspiration.

00:53I think she's such a strong, beautiful, independent woman.

00:56I just think she looks amazing every time she steps out and it's something that I really

01:00hope that I can achieve one day.

01:02So this is a cute satin skirt and I absolutely love it.

01:48I think the hardest thing about coming out as trans is you're not really sure how the

01:52world is going to perceive you.

01:53It's a very terrifying experience.

01:55There's been so many trans women who have been killed simply for living as themselves.

02:03I think this makeover will definitely help me have a more positive view of my body and

02:06my looks because it's going to allow me to, you know, just feel confident.

02:12I think my main concerns with today's transformation would be, you know, just putting myself out

02:17there.

02:18It can be a very dark and scary place, but it can also be a very beautiful and uplifting
