00:00The Food and Drug Administration of the FDA shared their successes in 2024 and plans for 2025. Here are the details.

00:12Cheap medicine, cooperation with micro, small, and medium enterprises, and ease of doing business.

00:17These are just a few of the things that the Food and Drug Administration shared in the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon program

00:21for their successes in 2024 and plans for 2025.

00:26According to the FDA Director General, Dr. Samuel Zacate,

00:29one of the biggest agencies is the ones that are more controlled by the police,

00:33such as expanding the validity of the license to operate,

00:36where the previous 3 years initial and 5 years renewal is now 6 years initial and 12 years renewal for distributors,

00:42manufacturers, and importers, while the MSMEs can apply for 3 years initial and 6 years renewal for their businesses.

00:49We will give more stability for the stakeholders and the company for their product and for their operations

00:55to be more continuous on top of our mandate to safeguard the public health through post-marketing survey because we are inspecting that.

01:02These are the initiatives of the agencies for micro, small businesses, local governments,

01:08academies, and cooperatives across the country.

01:10According to the orders of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and his marching order to the FDA

01:15to promote the existence of their own hub for the medical manufacturers of pharmaceutical and medical devices.

01:24We also top one of the PESA declared zone which is in Victoria, Tarlac.

01:28We also have the office there and laboratory that is ongoing construction.

01:33It will be built for this year. It will be completed hopefully by this year.

01:37And we will launch eventually the ribbon cutting of the first ever Pharma Dev Zone.

01:42And that will only happen during the time of President Marcos.

01:45The FDA has also increased the speed of the regulatory process for pharmaceutical exports and active pharma ingredients

01:51to speed up the approval of safe drugs.

01:54Meanwhile, the FDA is now pushing the implementation of counterfeit drugs along with its initiatives

01:59to make the cosmetic industry in the country more vulnerable.
