00:00the university's growing global stature. This institution has mobilized rupees 200 crores

00:08in funding from national and international agencies within just three years and is now

00:15the largest hardware product incubator in India, supporting over 80 startups. Moreover,

00:22its partnership with the University of Oxford has opened new avenues for academic collaboration

00:28and research with scholarship specifically for Kerala students. Over the last four years,

00:34we have invested 6000 crore rupees in the higher education sector, including 2000 crore rupees

00:41on infrastructure expansion. Project worth 700 crores have been implemented for the development

00:48of colleges and universities alongside 632 crores for technical education institutions.

00:54The establishment of nine international standard skill training complexes under ASAP

01:02and the creation of thousands of teaching and non-teaching positions referred our

01:06commitment to education. Our focus on infrastructure development is evident

01:12in state-of-the-art labs in, labs at Kerala and MG universities which are now the largest

01:21in South India, it is told. Kerala's higher education institutions are increasingly

01:30attracting students from across the globe. The number of foreign students who are studying in

01:35the universities in the state is tremendously increased. The number is with the commission now,

01:45recently the reports came. By fostering international collaborations, enhancing

01:50infrastructure and prioritizing innovation, we aim to position Kerala as a global education

01:56destination. The establishment of a new center of excellence in fields of microbiome research,

02:03nutraceuticals, graphene and the establishment of translations and research centres is only

02:10the beginning. Our emphasis is on science and technology will pave the way for Kerala's campuses

02:18to lead in developing ground-breaking products, processes and solutions.

02:24The industry and academia collaboration, as our honourable CM just mentioned,

02:29the Cochin universities itself has a lot of experience how the collaboration activities

02:35are happening. Ladies and gentlemen and my dear friends, the future of higher education in Kerala

02:42is not merely about retaining our talent but also about attracting the best minds globally.

02:48It is about creating a system that fosters excellence, inclusivity and innovation.

02:56The education, both fiscal and political, freedom is very important.

03:06Just mentioned, honourable minister for higher education and our CM mentioned about the recent

03:12developments in the higher education sector as well as in any other areas.

03:17Education should not be a monolithic process. If the entire syllabus, entire process of education,

03:26everything is decided by a single centre, it should be a monolithic thing. A country with

03:35more than 500 principally states, later it came under concurrent list. And in the name of

03:45concurrent list, now practically we are going or making it as union list. The issue is how

03:54different ideas will come, how the practicing education with different kind of streams and

04:00knowledge, how it will develop. That is the issue and where education becomes a bridge to

04:05a prosperous knowledge driven future. Thank you. The period of the 14th plan, the last few years,

04:15we are of course aware of the role that, the vital role that higher education plays.

04:23K to go and became very interested and I'm a great admirer of this state. So when I was asked

04:34to participate in this conference, I was very happy to say yes. I think Kerala is one of the

04:43most interesting and in many ways successful parts of India and has an impressive future.
